European Parliament

According to the Treaty of Lisbon, which entered into force in December 2009, the European Parliament is composed of at the most 751 members. The number of Finnish members is 13.

In earlier European Elections the number of members elected from Finland has been: 16 members in 1996, 16 members in 1999 and 14 members in 2004.

The number of parliamentary seats for each Member State in the parliamentary term 2014-2019 is as follows (change from the previous term is given in brackets):

the Netherlands 26, Belgium 21 (-1), Bulgaria 17 (-1), Spain 54, Ireland 11 (-1), Italy 73, Austria 18(-1), Greece 21 (-1), Cyprus 6, Latvia 8 (-1), Lithuania 11 (-1), Luxembourg 6, Malta 6, Portugal 21 (-1), Poland 51, France 74, Romania 32 (-1), Sweden 20, Germany 96 (-3)), Slovakia 13, Slovenia 8, Finland 13, Denmark 13, the Czech Republic 21 (-1), Hungary 21 (-1), Estonia 6 and the United Kingdom 73.
